Who’s afraid of poetry? Episode 3: Lloyd Schwartz "The act of writing a poem is a moral act"

Everytime I read a great American poet I think of Whitman’ s words: “The Americans of all nations at any time upon the earth, have probably the fullest poetical nature. The United States themselves are essentially the greatest poem”. And Lloyd Schwartz kind of reminds me of Whitman.the act of writing a poem is a moral act because it does take you out of yourself, it does open up your own understanding of what other people are thinking and feeling“.
